Jessie Benton d/o Senator Thomas Hart Benton m: 1841, MO sp: John Charle Fremont (1813-1890) Explorer Thomas Hart Benton of MO b: March 14, 1782, near Hillsborough, N.C., U.S. — d: April 10, 1858, Washington, D.C. After moving to St. Louis, Mo. (1815), he became editor of the St. Louis Enquirer. Appealing to agrarian and commercial interests, he won election to the U.S. Senate in 1820. Mammie Nell Benton, age 77, of Searcy, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007.
She was born Nov. 18, 1929 in Searcy, Ark. to the late Leonard and Cecil Foye
Cato. She was a member of Center Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Lynn Benton.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, 11 months, Wesley Benton of
Searcy;
two sons, Tony Allen Benton and his wife Paula of Judsonia, and Marty
Quinn Benton of Searcy;
a daughter, Shelia Mitchell and her husband Terry of Searcy;
five grandchildren, Casey Love, Lindsey Goodwin, Tara Wallace, Wesley Benton and
Monica Mitchell;
three great grandchildren, Creek Love, Brooke Love, and Lakelyn Love
a brother, Weldon Cato of Searcy; a sister, Jane Durham of Center Hill;
There will be no public visitation. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m.,
Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 at White County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Melburn Hill
officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
Michelle L. Benton Vance, 46, of Romance
died Saturday, April 3, 2004, after a long fight with diabetes.
Born April 6, 1957, she loved the Lord and spent her life teaching children
about God.
Her last act was to donate her body to science to help others.
Survivors: husband, Roy Benton; stepson, Jessie Hopper; mother, Sally
Benton; one sister;
three brothers; grandmother, Gussie L. Benton.
Preceded in death by: daughter, Rachel Lavelle Benton; father, Arville C. "Pete"
Benton.
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, Floyd Assembly of God Church, by
Westbrook Funeral Home.

Faye Bolton Benton, 66, of Floyd, Ark., died
Wednesday, April 20, 2005. She was retired from Beebe Public School as a
cafeteria worker and a bus driver.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Benton; three sons, Ray Benton
of Lonoke, Dwayne Benton of Beebe and Brian Benton of Floyd;
one
daughter, Pauline Benton Stancil of Russellville, Ala.; three brothers,
J.P. Bolton of Texas, Delton Bolton of Pennsylvania and Brady Bolton of Texas;
four sisters, Lois Damon of Floyd, Verta Hibner of Louisiana, Geneva Davis of
Texas and Janette Ludwig of Texas; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation begins at noon Thursday at Westbrook Funeral Home,
Beebe with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m.
Friday, April 22, 2005, at Westbrook Funeral Home with burial in New Floyd
Cemetery.

Monnie Gassaway, 94, of Judsonia, died
Friday, Feb. 27, 2004.
Survivors: two daughters, Wanda Taylor of Judsonia and Carolyn Miller of Little
Rock;
one brother, Allen Baker; one sister, Nadine Douglas; three grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren.
Graveside services: 2 p.m. Sunday, White County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation: 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia.
