I am the proud owner of a 1976 sunroof beetle. I  converted it from fuel injection to a single carb. 
I lowered the nose 3  inches by installing cb performance drop spindles and disk brakes up front.
The bug was looking pretty rough and was covered in rust, so last semester
I sanded the body and applied primer and spraypaint:  adding up to a $30 paint job.  
The engine is a 1600 dual port with an external oil filter.
